Deep breath. It is early in the morning, the dew fresh on the grass. Kapaun Mt. Carmel senior, Sean Doyle laces his Asics and begins to run.
“I like running because it relieves stress. It also wakes me up in the morning,” Doyle said.
To any other camper, getting up earlier voluntarily seems almost cruel.
“After hitting the snooze button twice, I forced myself to get up, put on my compression and running shorts and go for it,” Doyle said.
Doyle began this week with good intentions, bringing his running shoes and planning to jog every morning. He scouted routes in advance. How many days did he run this week?
“One,” Doyle said, shaking his head. “I was too damn tired to run any other days.”
